Virtual Printer not working for some users

Incident Report for HawkSoft Cloud Status Dashboard

Resolved

Microsoft appears to have fixed the issue with Windows 11 version 25H2. We have confirmed that users that get Windows 11 version 25H2 fresh do NOT experience the issue with the HawkSoft Virtual Printer. Users that are still experiencing the issue from prior should uninstall the following two Windows Updates (instructions below) and then move forward with Windows Updates as normal. After following these steps, if you continue to experience the issue, please contact HawkSoft Support.

Uninstall and Reapply the Windows Update
------------------------------------------------
1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator
2. Click the Start menu in Windows and type "cmd".
3. Right-click on Command Prompt and select Run as administrator.
4. If prompted by User Account Control, click Yes to allow it.

Run install commands
------------------------------------------------
Run the following two uninstall commands, one at a time. This may take several minutes to complete. Either of the commands may fail or give a message that the update is not installed, which is not an issue.

wusa /uninstall /kb:5066835
wusa /uninstall /kb:5065789

Restart when prompted, or after both uninstall processes have been completed.
Reapply Windows Updates.
